# Add dates and deadlines to items

Type `@` followed by a date, such as `@tomorrow` or `@tomorrow 3pm`, and press `Enter` to pick the suggested date. You can then find items by their dates.

## Add a date

1. While editing an item, type `@` followed by a date: `now`, `today`, `tomorrow`, `next Monday`, `in three weeks` or `2025-07-14`.
2. To add a time, type it after the date, for example `@tomorrow 3pm`.
3. Press `Enter` to pick the suggested date. The date appears in the item.

*Typing `@tomorrow 3pm` after “Dentist” and pressing `Enter` adds tomorrow’s date at 3:00 PM.*

Only a date you pick from the suggestion counts as a date, for search too.

**Hint:** In the desktop and web app, you can also choose from a calendar: pick **Pick a date…** in the suggestion list. To change a date later, click it while editing the item.

## Pick a date in the phone app

In the phone app, you can also pick a date from a calendar:

1. While editing an item, tap the date picker icon in the footer menu.
2. Tap a date in the calendar.

## Find items by date
