Star items and searches for quick access

Starring items and searches lets you quickly access important content from the sidebar, keeping your most-used items always within reach.

You can star any item to add it to your sidebar for quick access:

Press s to star the currently selected item.

Once starred, the item will appear in the sidebar under your starred list. Clicking it will instantly focus on that item.

You can also star searches to save powerful filters and queries: After performing a search, click the star icon in the search field.

The search will be added to your sidebar under your starred list. Clicking a starred search will automatically re-run the search.

Starred searches are live — NotesGarden continuously monitors them and tracks which matching items you have and haven’t seen yet.

When new items match a starred search, a counter badge appears next to its name in the sidebar. Clicking the starred search opens the results pre-filtered to show those unread items, so you can catch up quickly.

Unread count is limited to 1,000 items per starred search.

You can opt in to receive email digests for any starred search so that new matches are delivered to your inbox even when you’re not actively using the app.

Emails are sent after a short delay to ensure you’ve had a chance to see results in-app first.

To dismiss all unread notifications for a starred search without opening the results modal, click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the starred search and select Mark all as read.

The three-dot menu (⋯) on a starred search also includes View all results, which opens the full search results modal regardless of read state.

You can manage your starred items and searches through the starred item menu. To open it, click the three dots next to the starred item in the sidebar.
